Dear Youth, there’s so much on my mind Christmas seems far away...

Sometimes the shadows and burdens we carry throughout the year follow us into the Christmas season. Everyone is smiling but for some reason you're struggling to be happy. Questions like "What's wrong with me?"and "Will I ever be happy?" Float around in your mind.

I know some of us had a wonderful Christmas but I also really relate to this sentiment and know for others, Christmas is not the happiest time of year.

So, what to do? Wouldn't dare to be a downer on Christmas. Do we just squash those feelings and pull a mask on for one more day?

no.

The reason for this season is Jesus. And He tells us in Psalms 55:22

“Cast your burden on the Lord,

and He shall sustain you;

He shall never permit the

righteous to be moved.” - Psalms 55:22

What does that mean for us?

Christian or not, Jesus has opened his arms and called us to bring our every anxiety, worry, fearfilled thought, stress and lay it at his feet.

So, this Christmas, take a minute to pray. Share all of your worries and deepest throughts with Jesus. ask Him for the peace which He has already promised you. Then take a deep breath, remember everything is going to be ok. And let go of those thoughts just for one day. Clearing your mind may be a little way away, but this is just the first step and that's a great start.

Sincerely,

Your Friend

Merry Christmas
